The Project

NUS SCALE is the University’s platform for lifelong learning, workforce transformation and multidisciplinary programmes, and its tenth anniversary needed to say so to two very different rooms: NUS senior management inside, and government agencies, corporates and associations outside. We produced both anniversary deliverables. The film is two minutes, deliberately not interview-led, and carries its argument through kinetic typography and infographics instead — thick geometric letterforms in a minimal layout, moved with fast, snappy, purposeful transitions that slide, scale and reposition rather than drift. It had to survive a 400-seat anniversary screening and still read on a phone afterwards, so the palette is bright and saturated and every statistic is set large enough to land from the back of a hall. The 76-page Impact Report is the same story at reading pace. We ran research and interviews against the supplied content, built the narrative structure, then wrote, edited and proofread it to NUS editorial style before designing the book — a foreword, ten years of milestones, and chapters on innovation, stewardship and partnership, each carried by its own illustration system and data spreads. The brief was ultimately about positioning: making SCALE’s value legible enough to support future partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
